Our Skype session

On June 7th 2012. Our K1 class had a Skype session with Wyalong PS K2 class. Though we were a bit late from the schedule due to the time issues (our 9 is their 12) everyone was excited for it. Our 6 student's class was no match to the huge numbers of K2 class from Wyalong. But we had no fear, seeing so many of them, in fact we were so glad to meet so many new friends!
We read them our 'Bee hive' rhyme while they showed us their drawing of snakes! Though sometimes we didn't really get what they said due to the accent, we could understand what they tried to tell us. We asked them whether they liked snakes and a lot of them said they didn't but they didn't fear them too!
The session last for 45 minutes and we felt a bit sad when it ended. We hope to have another session with them soon.

Love
K1 Kidea HI
How we looked like on their big screen

Can't believe we could talk to a class far away!

    1. Hi Maria
Well, I think if we could find the right time slot, it is do-able ;)

  2. This is a wonderful way to collaborate! Sometimes it's quite difficult though because of the time differences. In any case, this kind of project across countries using skype can be easily supplemented with a blog where the two classes can prepare for the skype sessions.

  3. Brilliant Idea! The session must have been exciting for all the children involved. They might come up with other potential projects while they were attending the meeting. Wonderful!

  4. I love your adding connection literacies to the classroom! This is an amazing project. How about trying to similar proyect with students from Argentina? We could record their voices and make them take about their country.
